Belgian hopcones

On the occasion of the triennial Hop & Beer Festival at Poperinge in 2011, Sylvie developed the first regional product for Zokola: “Belgian hopcones”. Belgian hopconesA ganache with Watou Tripel & hops from Poperinge for a slightly bitter aftertaste.

In november 2012, during the preparations of the commemorations of World War I, Zokola developed the Chocolate Poppy A praline with an extra dark filling of caramel (70%), Baileys, coffee and whisky. With the permission of “The Royal British Legion” a replica of the paper memorial Poppy was designed.

Barbelientjes and Angelkisses with rhubarb

In 2013 toen “100% West-Vlaams” werd opgericht ontwikkelden we samen met het Warandehof een kogeltruffeltje met een dubbele rabarbervulling, de Barbelientjesa combination of fresh rhubarb puree with a rhubarb ganache to enhance the flavour. The Barbelientjes were very popular and the province advised to make Angel Kisses with a rhubarb filling, our Rhubarb Angel Kisses.

This label is awarded to products that meet the following criteria: 

  • Indien mogelijk met West-Vlaamse producten
  • Ambachtelijk produceren 
  • Een lokale verankering hebben
